Tignes Chalets - Slopeside Convenience in the Espace Killy

Built to deliver, Tignes hits every mark — snow-sure, high-altitude and full of energy. Our Tignes ski chalets put you right at the heart of it, with ski-in/ski-out access and world-class terrain right on your doorstep.

Stay in Le Lavachet, Le Lac or Val Claret and you’ll have lifts, bars and shops all within a snowball’s throw. After something more traditional? Head to Tignes 1800 or Les Brévières for a more rustic chalet feel without losing easy access to the slopes.

Wherever you stay, you're close to the action — and thanks to the resort’s 24-hour shuttle, getting around is easy (just don’t get stuck in Val d’Isère after the lifts close!).

All our catered ski chalets in Tignes include breakfast, afternoon tea with cake, and a hearty evening meal with wine. Cosy, convenient, and made for the mountains.

3 Reasons for a Ski Chalet Holiday to Tignes

1. World Class Skiing

Tignes is part of the vast Tignes–Val d’Isère ski area (formerly Espace Killy), offering 300km of marked pistes and even more off-piste terrain. It’s a dream for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities — with fast lifts, varied runs, and glacier skiing at altitude.

2. Snow Conditions You Can Count On

At 2100m, Tignes Le Lac and Val Claret are among the most snow-sure ski villages in Europe. With the Grande Motte Glacier open well into spring (and even summer!), you can count on excellent conditions throughout the season.

3. Effortless Slope Access

The majority of ski chalets in Tignes are either ski-in/ski-out or within a short walk to the lifts. No buses, no hassle — just gear up and go.

Frequently Asked Questions about Tignes

Is Tignes good for groups booking a chalet?

Yes! With a wide range of chalet sizes in Tignes, from smaller alpine boltholes to larger chalets for 15+ guests, it’s ideal for group ski holidays. Some chalets can even be booked room-by-room if you’re not filling the whole place.

Are all chalets in Tignes ski-in/ski-out?

In our Tignes chalets, you're never far from the action. The vast majority of our chalets are either ski-in/ski-out access, or a quick stroll to the nearest lift or piste making it easy to maximise your slope time.

Can I walk to the village centre from my Tignes chalet?

In most cases, yes. Chalets in Le Lac, Le Lavachet and Val Claret are within easy reach of shops, restaurants and après ski spots. There’s also a free 24-hour shuttle connecting all villages if you fancy exploring further afield.

When is the best time to book a ski chalet in Tignes?

For the best availability and early booking discounts, aim to book before autumn. As always, the sooner the better! January and late-season weeks tend to offer the best value, while February and Easter are popular for families and school holidays.

When does the ski season in Tignes start and end?

Thanks to its high altitude and glacier access, Tignes has one of the longest ski seasons in Europe. The main winter season typically kicks off in late November and runs right through to early May – with consistent snow conditions from start to finish. Early birds and spring skiers, rejoice!

Which airport do you fly into for Tignes?

Grenoble is the most popular gateway, with a transfer time of roughly 3 to 3.5 hours depending on conditions. Our ski packages include flights and transfers to make it all smooth and simple.

Is there good après in Tignes?

There is – and then some. Tignes après ski is a lively mix of slope-side parties, cosy bars and late-night hangouts. Head to Loop Bar or Cocorico for that classic ski-boot boogie, or Le Strike and Drop Zone if you’re in it for the long haul. Whether you want table-top dancing or a relaxed vin chaud by the fire, Tignes knows how to do après right.
